BODEGA ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM "OUR BRAND COULD BE YR LIFE"

New York City's trailblazing band BODEGA is back with a bang as they announce their signing to Chrysalis, home to artists like Laura Marling and Liz Phair. The thrilling news is accompanied by the revelation of their highly anticipated third album, "Our Brand Could Be Yr Life," scheduled to drop on April 12th.

To tease fans, BODEGA has released the electrifying single "Tarkovski," which made its debut on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show. The track, already a live favorite from their recent UK tour, offers a glimpse into the band's evolving sound—a perfect mix of ambition and playful experimentation.

Joint lead vocalist, Ben Hozie, sheds light on the inspiration behind "Tarkovski," explaining, "'Tarkovski' is a pun on the famous Russian director and skiing. I was enamored by his book 'Sculpting in Time,' but found that many of his professed rules for filmmaking were broken by his own practices. Theory never really gets at what you want, and applying theory to the chaotic practice of art making is like skiing down a wild slope."

The music video, directed by Luca Balser and featuring Nikki’s mother, is a visual feast, quoting Tarkovsky’s 'Nostalghia' while seamlessly transitioning into punchy pop vogueing—a testament to BODEGA's knack for defying convention.

"Our Brand Could Be Yr Life" marks BODEGA's third and most significant LP to date. A full remake of their old band BODEGA BAY’s 2015 self-released 33-track album, this ambitious project explores the current corporate mentality of underground/indie rock. BODEGA aims to both desecrate and celebrate the indie rock canon, hoping to redeem its 'fall from grace.'

The band is set to rock their hometown with a show at Brooklyn's TV Eye this week and has lined up an array of live dates across the spring in the US. They've also secured a spot at the Wide Awake Festival in the UK, with more UK and EU dates to be announced soon.
