Soleil Unveils Cinematic ‘Heart Strings’ Video

Miami-based singer-songwriter and DJ Soleil has released the official music video for “Heart Strings,” a sultry R&B/Soul cut that turns heartbreak, nostalgia and self-reclamation into a cinematic statement.

Following her soulful jazz-inflected take on Dolly Parton’s “Jolene,” Soleil shifts into original territory with “Heart Strings,” blending R&B, Blues, Funk, Jazz and Neo-Soul around a vocal performance that moves effortlessly from intimate to commanding.

The track explores the messy aftermath of a relationship that didn’t work out, tracing the journey from questioning what went wrong to rediscovering self-worth. Soleil describes the song as a reflection on “the phases of a less-than-ideal relationship,” with its lyrics ultimately embracing growth and the process of reclaiming what was lost.

Directed by Riccardo Solorzano, the new video gives that emotional arc a striking visual treatment. Shot in both black-and-white and color, the imagery mirrors the song’s balance between melancholy and empowerment, while Soleil commands the frame with a performance-led presence. The addition of crowd applause gives the visual an almost live-show energy, blurring the line between music video and performance.

“Heart Strings” was co-written by Soleil and CJ Hilton, who also produced the track. The recording features guitar from Richard Boisrond, drums from Moises Lenare, bass from Josh Walton and keys from Juan Santiago, with Paolo Angulo handling the mix and master.

The release is the latest chapter in a growing catalogue from Soleil, whose work sits at the intersection of soulful songwriting and club culture. Originally from New York and now based in Miami, the singer, DJ and vocal producer draws from R&B, Soul, Blues, Disco House, Deep House, Amapiano, Afrobeats, Baile Funk, EDM and Pop.

Her live résumé spans venues and stages including Carnegie Hall, Miami Beach Bandshell, Hard Rock Live and the Hard Rock Guitar Hotel, alongside appearances at Art Basel activations, Formula One events, Funky Buddha Festival and Sofar Sounds. She has also performed internationally, including a Miami Music Week set for Lady of the House and Labelworx.

Soleil’s work has earned coverage from outlets including Grammy.com, Billboard Argentina, Dancing Astronaut, EARMILK, Rolling Stone India, We Rave You and The Hype Magazine, while her wider work in music extends into mentorship and advocacy through organisations including Grammy U and Women in Music.

“Heart Strings” arrives ahead of Soleil’s next single, “Rubbish,” which will also receive a music video.
