FOURA and Shuga Unleash Bass-Heavy Club Chaos on Explosive New Single ‘PARAR’

The Naarm-based producers reunite for a fierce, genre-smashing dancefloor weapon, blending baile funk, dubstep, dancehall and drill on their latest NLV Records release.
FOURA and Shuga are back to cause serious dancefloor damage. Following the success of their triple j-playlisted collaboration ‘Pesadão’, the Naarm-based DJs and producers have joined forces once again for ‘PARAR’, a ferocious, bass-loaded club cut out now via NLV Records.
Built for maximum impact, ‘PARAR’ throws Brazilian baile funk rhythms, heavyweight dubstep, dancehall influences and razor-sharp drill percussion into one explosive mix. It's tough, unapologetic and bursting with the kind of energy designed to shake sound systems.
“PARAR feels like us kicking the door back open after Pesadão,” FOURA explains. “The phrase ‘vai me parar’ means ‘you can’t stop me’, which sums up the energy. Tough, fierce and very club-focused.”
The track sees the duo push their shared love of genre-blurring production even further, combining the weight of 140 BPM bass music with the restless rhythms of Brazilian funk. Shuga laid down the initial foundation before FOURA brought her signature percussion and sound design into the mix, transforming their ideas into a full-throttle club weapon.
For Shuga, the release captures the creative chemistry that has developed since their first collaboration. Describing ‘PARAR’ as a melting pot of their defining sounds, he highlights the collision of new-school dubstep, Brazilian funk and drill as the driving force behind the track.
The release follows the pair's breakthrough collaboration ‘Pesadão’, which picked up support from triple j and community radio stations PBS and 3RRR, cementing their reputation as an exciting partnership within Australia's underground electronic scene.
FOURA has become a formidable presence in the country's bass music landscape, moving effortlessly between UK garage, jungle, drum and bass and experimental club sounds. Her growing résumé includes support slots for Peggy Gou, Sammy Virji, Chase & Status and DJ EZ, alongside appearances at Listen Out, Beyond The Valley and Let Them Eat Cake.
Meanwhile, Nepal-born, Australia-based Shuga continues to make waves as part of a new generation of South Asian artists reshaping club culture. With more than 420,000 streams across his productions, a growing underground following and performances alongside acts including Soul Mass Transit System, Bushbaby and Skeptic, his reputation for high-energy, genre-defying sounds continues to grow.
Together, FOURA and Shuga are proving their creative partnership has plenty more firepower to unleash. With its pounding low end, fierce percussion and boundary-pushing production, ‘PARAR’ is a statement of intent from two artists refusing to play by the rules.
‘PARAR’ is out now via NLV Records.
