The Nashville-based indie-pop artist channels the fight to feel like yourself again into a fierce, rock-infused anthem.

Sometimes, feeling a little better just isn’t enough. Libby Tisler captures that raw, restless frustration on ‘Bad News’, her magnetic new single that pairs emotionally charged songwriting with soaring vocals and a punchy indie-rock edge.

Out now via APOLLO Distribution, the track dives into the exhaustion of waiting to feel like yourself again — and the anger that creeps in when promises of better days start to feel empty.

“Each morning, I opened my eyes hoping I’d wake up feeling like myself again,” Tisler shares, describing the feelings behind the song. “What if it did get better but I never got back to who I used to be?”

That question fuels ‘Bad News’, a track built around the desire for more than marginal progress. Rather than settling for simply getting by, Tisler puts the frustration of feeling disconnected from your former self front and centre, turning an intensely personal experience into something fiercely relatable.

Musically, the single pushes her indie-pop sensibilities into bolder territory. Powerful vocals cut through a driving rock instrumental, giving the track a gritty alternative edge while retaining the melodic pull of her songwriting. Fans of Phoebe Bridgers, Olivia Rodrigo and Lizzy McAlpine will recognise that sweet spot between vulnerable confession and full-bodied emotional release.

Originally from Rhode Island, Tisler studied music at Tulane University before relocating to Nashville, where she continues to write and record. Her approach is instinctive and personal, often beginning with a guitar and a search for the right feeling or phrase. The result is a dreamy yet direct sound that finds meaning in everyday moments and turns them into stories listeners can make their own.

Her 2024 debut EP, Hopping Dimensions, explored emerging from darkness, letting go and learning to embrace change. With ‘Bad News’, Tisler revisits that emotional territory from a more frustrated, forceful perspective — capturing the messy reality of wanting to move forward when you’re still struggling to recognise yourself.

‘Bad News’ is out now via APOLLO Distribution.
