Beaks shares hazy new single ‘vanilla sky’ ahead of debut album ALDIE

The Vienna-based experimental artist’s genre-blurring debut arrives 13 November, with a UK and European headline tour kicking off next month.

Beaks is taking one last plunge into her dreamlike world before opening a new chapter. The Vienna-based experimental artist, real name Anna Francesca, has unveiled ‘vanilla sky’, the final single from her forthcoming debut album ALDIE, arriving 13 November via dottidot.

Built around hypnotic production, hazy textures and an undercurrent of emotional intensity, ‘vanilla sky’ captures Beaks at her most introspective, balancing off-kilter sonic experimentation with a striking sense of intimacy. At its heart is a question of identity and self-perception, summed up in the line: “sometimes you just need proof that you are real, right, or how else are you supposed to know”.

The single joins previously released tracks ‘TY (robbed the bank)’, ‘little silver’ and ‘Hit Me Back’, offering another glimpse into the restless, genre-hopping world of ALDIE. Moving between indie, pop, punk and electronic influences, the nine-track record explores the blurred boundaries between dreams and reality, ecstasy and despair, and the chaos of navigating modern life.

Written between July 2025 and March 2026, with inspiration drawn from travels to New York, Paris, Norway and Berlin, ALDIE took shape through collaborative studio sessions in Vienna with close friend and producer Markus Windisch. The result is a collection of vivid sonic snapshots, pairing literary and cinematic references with revealing lyricism and immersive, guitar-led arrangements.

For Beaks, music is just one part of a wider creative world. Having studied photography and graphic design while working as an international model for brands including Celine, Chanel, Miu Miu and Vivienne Westwood, Francesca has developed a distinctly multidisciplinary approach to her art. But music has always been the main event: her 2023 debut single ‘I Dropped the Bottle’ has surpassed four million streams, helping establish her as an artist operating well beyond conventional genre boundaries.

With support from BBC 6 Music and praise from The Line of Best Fit, Wonderland and To Be Magazine, Beaks is steadily building momentum. Now, with ALDIE on the horizon, she’s preparing to take her immersive sound on the road, with headline dates across France, Austria, the UK and Germany this November and December.

If ‘vanilla sky’ is any indication, ALDIE promises to be a record for the moments when reality feels surreal, emotions refuse to sit still and the line between a dream and a waking nightmare begins to disappear.

ALDIE is out 13 November via dottidot.
