Leeds-Based Talent Development Program Unveils Boost of Funding for New Artists

Talent Development Program Launchpad Music have unveiled their boost of funding for upcoming artists this week, focusing on those situated in the Yorkshire region. Since their launch last year, Launchpad Music have been able to help 62 budding artists - including musicians, producers, bands and composers. This help has covered a range of areas, from financial support for recording sessions to one-on-one mentoring for working in the music industry.

Downtown Kayoto's music cannot be defined, as he works to develop his sound throughout this year. He was born in Zimbabwe and proudly raised in Hull, and his mixtures of cultures and experiences is evidently echoed in his style.

Sunflower Thieves


Leeds-based duo Sunflower Thieves are making waves of glorious pop-folk this year, after the widely successful release of their single Hide and Seek. After many years of friendship, the girls are now working together to mould their sound, with many remembering their effortless and dreamy harmonies and personal lyrics.

Rosalind


Described as "uttering mesmerising", Rosalind is a Leeds-based musician thats pushing barriers to reinvent the sounds of indie folk. Her music is intimate and personal, as she "invites you to reflect on themes of trauma, healing, forgiveness, and growth, led starkly by her arresting and unusual voice". Following a successful UK tour before lockdown, she is now preparing for her first release.
