Launchpad Reveals Final Round of Artist Support for 2020

Yorkshire-based talent Development Program Launchpad Music have announced their final selection of artists that will receive their support in the coming year. Since their launch, Launchpad Music have worked alongside 62 budding artists - including musicians, producers, bands and composers. This help has covered a range of areas, from financial support for recording sessions to 1-1 mentoring about working in the music industry. This round of artists are an impressive and expansive selection of some of the most promising talent in the North - read below to meet a handful of them. TC & the Groove Family


TC & the Groove Family are a 10-piece jazz collective already making their way in the music industry, supporting the likes of Yussef Dayes, KOG & The Zongo Brigade and Cykada, and headlining iconic venues across the country. Their music fuses the sounds of different cultures, including acrobat, breakbeat, jungle and highlife. TC & the Groove Family will receive Launchpad's funded recording support, as well as 1-1 industry advice, in the hope of bringing them closer to their goals as musicians and as a group.

Shauna


Shauna is a rising name on the underground scene, particularly in Leeds, where she has played her mix of house, techno and breaks at some of its best venues. Since then, she has launched her own residency on Foodhall Community Radio called Liquid Orange, and mostly recently delved into the world of producing. Her music has been played by both Ross from Friends and Radio 1, and her debut EP Original Workout has enjoyed huge success in the past month since its release. Shauna will receive 1-1 industry advice and support from Launchpad's team of mentors.

SK21


Born in the small town of Keighley, Bradford, SK21 is the first UK Rap and Grime artist from his area. His inspiration is spurred from his desire to break the boundaries of his area, and try to cultivate the growth of Yorkshire's grime scene. Starting at just 9 years old, he has developed a huge passion for writing and now dedicates most of his time to making music. SK21 has enjoyed big success since releasing his track, with Bang on the Roads being featured on local YouTube channel King Of Da Hills. Alike Shauna, SK21 will receive 1-1 industry advice and support from Launchpad's mentors, with the aim of pushing him even further.
