Krooked Tongue Drop Blistering New Single 'You Don’t Need A Sun Tan' – Out Today

Fresh off the back of April’s scorching single Marigold, Bristol-based alt-rockers Krooked Tongue return with a sun-drenched punch to the gut in the form of their brand-new track You Don’t Need A Sun Tan, out today (June 20th) via all major platforms.

Teasing the arrival of their hotly anticipated debut album (set to land early 2026), the single fuses fuzzed-out guitar riffs, explosive percussion and a wall of driving melodies that ooze nostalgia while urging listeners to break free from the comfort zone. Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Gallop (Mother Vulture, Phoxjaw), it’s another confident leap forward for the trio — and a sign that big things are coming.

Vocalist Oli Rainsford digs into themes of escape and self-belief, inspired by a bittersweet trip back to his hometown. “It’s about being stuck in the familiar, but knowing there’s more out there. You don’t need permission. You don’t need a sun tan,” he explains — a mantra for anyone itching to break the loop.

Building on the momentum of fan favourites like Let ‘Em Loose and Nothing Ever Grows — the latter soundtracking the Bivol vs Beterbiev fight on DAZN Sports — the band continues to carve a name in the UK rock scene. With support from Apple Music, HEAVY Magazine, Total Rock and BBC Introducing, and a new publishing deal with Wipeout Music under their belt, Krooked Tongue are fast becoming one of the most exciting names in British alt-rock.
