Ezra Collective Turn London Into a Dancefloor With Euphoric New Single “Jubilee Feeling”

Ezra Collective are bringing the party home.

The Mercury Prize and BRIT Award-winning London group have unveiled “Jubilee Feeling”, the third preview of their forthcoming album Here Because of Hope, out September 11 via Partisan Records.

A rush of UK jazz, funky house and pure dancefloor euphoria, “Jubilee Feeling” captures the sound of a city in motion. Built around an infectious, ever-expanding groove and a dazzling piano performance from Joe Armon-Jones, it is Ezra Collective at their most celebratory — and their most unmistakably London.

The track marks the London chapter of Here Because of Hope, an album that traces the movement of Black music from West Africa through the Caribbean and into Britain. Previous singles “Only Love”, featuring Pa Salieu, and “Well Organised”, featuring Lila Iké, explored the record’s West African and Caribbean influences. Now, “Jubilee Feeling” brings the journey full circle.

Bandleader Femi Koleoso describes the song as a collision between the jazz language Ezra Collective love and the euphoric energy of the UK’s early-2010s funky house movement. The result is music made for packed rooms, late nights and that rare feeling when everything seems to click.

That idea of joy runs deeper than the dancefloor. For Koleoso, “Jubilee” represents freedom, fresh starts and the wiping away of old debts — an idea that gives the track its sense of almost overwhelming release. “Jubilee Feeling” turns that concept into sound: a celebration of joy that arrives when you least expect it.

The accompanying video, directed by Ebenezer Blanche and shot in London, leans into the same energy, mixing early-2000s nightlife aesthetics with Ezra Collective’s fiercely modern sound.

And the timing could hardly be bigger. The band have sold out four consecutive headline shows at London’s O2 Academy Brixton, following previous sell-outs at Wembley Arena and the Royal Albert Hall. The Brixton run forms part of their biggest global headline tour yet, stretching from Australia and Asia to North America, Europe and the UK.

It is a fitting moment for a band whose rise has taken them from London’s grassroots jazz scene to some of the world’s biggest stages. Since becoming the first jazz act to win the Mercury Prize, Ezra Collective have added a BRIT Award for Group of the Year to their trophy cabinet and performed everywhere from Glastonbury and Sydney Opera House to Central Park SummerStage and New York’s Blue Note.

With Here Because of Hope, they are not simply looking backwards at the sounds that shaped them. They are connecting generations, cultures and genres — and turning that history into something you can dance to.
