Eden Samara is back with another glimpse into Odyssey — and this one comes with strings attached, emotional baggage, and absolutely no interest in settling.
The London-based artist has shared “Unsatisfied”, the third single from her forthcoming second album Odyssey, due September 4 via Local Action and Lapsus.
Produced in collaboration with TSVI, who also featured on Samara’s debut album Rough Night, “Unsatisfied” pushes further into the restless, genre-blurring world she has been building since relocating to London in 2019. It follows recent singles “Punish Me” and “Oracle”, which picked up support across Resident Advisor, DJ Mag, BBC Radio 6 Music, CLASH and The Line of Best Fit.
The track takes aim at relationships that look good on paper but leave something missing. For Samara, it’s about learning when to let people go rather than forcing connections to last — or, as she puts it, saying goodbye to sex and relationships without full emotional availability.
That tension sits at the heart of Odyssey. Inspired by epic quests including Homer’s Odyssey, the album turns a mythic journey into something deeply personal, tracing Samara’s path through the fallout of addiction, mental health struggles, toxic relationships and codependency.
Sonically, she’s expanding the palette too. Jungle, choral vocals and live harp join her established mix of club-pop and introspective R&B, with a cast of collaborators including Loraine James, Tim Reaper, TSVI, Ryan Pierre, Comfort Zone, Dan Only, Ryan Cover and Lighght.
It’s a bigger world than Rough Night, but the same instinct for collaboration remains. That debut, released in 2022, saw Samara fuse freaky club-pop and R&B with contributions from TSVI, Call Super and Shanti Celeste, earning praise from outlets including Dazed and Mixmag.
Now Odyssey promises something more expansive: part club record, part emotional travelogue, and part reckoning with the relationships and experiences that shape us.
Before the album lands, Samara will give fans an early listen at a Bandcamp listening party on August 31.
“Unsatisfied” is out now. Odyssey arrives September 4 via Local Action and Lapsus.
