CHERRY CHOLA UNVEILS DREAMY, ROCK-FUELLED NEW ALBUM ‘EL CUARTO ROSA’

Cherry Chola opens the doors to her own surreal, glitter-soaked universe with ‘El Cuarto Rosa’, her expansive second album, out now via dottidot. Created alongside longtime collaborator and producer Chico Sonido, the record sees the artist push her signature blend of Latin rhythms, rock and electronica into darker, dreamier and more electric territory.

Part desert-road-trip delirium, part bedroom introspection, ‘El Cuarto Rosa’ is a starlet’s strange dream of heartbreak, glamour and freedom. Built around guitars, rock and electronics, the album began in Cherry Chola’s bedroom, where she spent a summer revisiting old diaries and turning personal feelings into songs. Its sonic and visual world took shape during a trip to Baja California with Chico Sonido, fuelled by classic rock, long desert highways, glittering sunsets and strange nights.

At the heart of the record is the titular pink room: a space that is part bedroom, part secret and part fantasy. Across 13 tracks, Cherry Chola explores the tension between sweetness and danger, glamour and sensitivity, with everything from the ’90s indie-inspired ‘Flotando’ and pop-metal rush of ‘Cristalina’ to the hypnotic focus track ‘Cherry Baby Loca’. Elsewhere, ‘Nothing But Trouble’ brings a metallic edge, ‘Provocativa’ leans into playful merengue-inspired rhythms, while ‘Angel De La Musica’ features an energetic collaboration with 1tbsp.

“I had a vision, I bought a pink electric guitar, made some bad demos, and then convinced Chico to help me. I knew he would understand and be able to make the perfect songs for this,” Cherry Chola shares.

Chico Sonido describes the album as “a wild psychodrama made of dreams, love, technology and guitars”, adding that the project proved a real creative challenge for the pair.

Since emerging in 2022, Cherry Chola has carved out a distinctive sonic and visual identity, moving between Latin America and Australia while blending reggaeton, Latin-urban rhythms and glittering electronica. Following her debut album ‘Bimbo Esoterica’, ‘El Cuarto Rosa’ marks an exciting evolution, expanding her world with a more rock-driven, emotionally charged sound.
