Melbourne/Naarm six-piece Shock Corridor are back with Buster — a powerful new single marking their first release in nearly a year, accompanied by an evocative official video.
Driven by a relentless guitar riff, Buster builds from brooding intensity into something widescreen and anthemic. Blending droney synths, echoing guitars and unforgiving percussion with flashes of violin and trumpet, the track captures a sense of unease about the future while holding onto the need for human connection.
Written as part of a broader body of work finalised in 2025 and recorded with Dan Luscombe of The Drones, the single sees the band leaning into darker textures while maintaining their signature emotional depth.
“It’s about the importance of genuine connection in uncertain times,” says frontman George Miller. “A lot of what we’ve been writing comes from not knowing where things are headed — and asking each other if we’re going to be okay.”
The accompanying video, co-directed by Miller, mirrors the track’s themes of fragility and renewal, following the creation of a baby’s blanket as a symbol of new life. Shot in an intimate, stripped-back setting, it blends personal storytelling with the band’s distinctive visual world.
Since forming in 2019, Shock Corridor have built a reputation for intense, unpredictable live shows — shifting between quiet, atmospheric moments and explosive crescendos. Their genre-blurring sound draws from post-punk, trip hop and experimental rock, with orchestral textures woven throughout.
With Buster, the band continue to sharpen their identity — delivering a track that feels both intimate and expansive, and hinting at a larger project still to come.
