Four Tet lights up Green Man as festival heads into final day

Four Tet delivered one of the defining sets of Green Man 2026 on Saturday night, returning to the festival's Mountain Stage for a 90-minute headline performance that lit up the surrounding Welsh mountains.

Playing the festival for the second time after his acclaimed 2019 appearance, Kieran Hebden brought a sprawling mix of beats, builds and drops to the Mountain Stage, backed by a huge light show that stretched across the site and drew the biggest crowd of the weekend so far.

But Four Tet was just one part of a Saturday that refused to stick to one sound.

Over at Far Out, Mannequin Pussy brought their cathartic punk energy before producer and composer Daniel Avery showcased tracks from his latest album Tremor. He later returned for a late-night DJ set, while Celeste delivered one of the day's most striking vocal performances.

The Mountain Stage also welcomed back Welsh favourite Cate Le Bon, who mixed fan favourites including Mother's Mother's Magazines and Home To You with material from Michelangelo Dying.

Elsewhere, The Beta Band's three-decade career was celebrated, with Steve Mason also sitting down with BBC's Huw Stephens at the Talking Shop.

The stage wasn't short on politics, either. Green Party leader Zack Polanski joined Welsh investigative journalist Will Hayward for a conversation covering media regulation, Welsh devolution, climate policy, community energy and rent control.

Over at the Walled Garden, James Ellis Ford marked the release of Lost In Another World with music created while undergoing chemotherapy, while Cardiff four-piece Bathing Suits made an abrasive Green Man debut, blending techno, punk, noise and pop.

A secret session from Margate's Afro-disco outfit Pigeon also packed out Round The Twist.

Now Green Man is heading into its final day, with Wolf Alice set to headline the Mountain Stage for their first-ever appearance at the festival.

They'll be joined by Cat Power, Anna Calvi, Dove Ellis, Everything Is Recorded and Alexis Taylor, while the Far Out stage brings Panic Shack, Fcukers, Wednesday and Sparks.

Over at the Walled Garden, Way Dynamic and Tricky are among the day's highlights, while the Rising Stage continues its focus on emerging talent with Paulie Swan, Dermot Henry and The Itch.

There's plenty beyond music too, with filmmaker Craig Roberts introducing Submarine and Samantha Morton joining The Guardian for an Honest Playlist conversation at the Talking Shop.

After another packed weekend in the Black Mountains, Green Man's final day has plenty left in the tank.

And if Saturday was anything to go by, the festival won't be going quietly.
