ALFIE JUKES TURNS HIS PARENTS’ LOVE STORY INTO FEEL-GOOD NEW SINGLE ‘LUCY, WHEN YOU WAKE UP’ — ANNOUNCES DEBUT ALBUM FUNNY LITTLE FEELING

Brighton-born alt-pop rising star Alfie Jukes has bottled a family love story into an infectious new single, while unveiling his debut album, Funny Little Feeling, arriving April 2027.
Some love stories are made for the movies. Others end up tucked away in an attic — until Alfie Jukes turns them into a pop song.
The Brighton-born singer-songwriter has announced his highly anticipated debut album, Funny Little Feeling, set for release in April 2027 via Giant Music, alongside the release of upbeat new single ‘Lucy, When You Wake Up’. Packed with punchy hooks, bright melodies and an instantly memorable chorus, the track takes its inspiration from the unlikely romance between Jukes’ own parents.
The story began when his dad fell for his mum in a single night, despite her already having a boyfriend. His solution? A heartfelt letter declaring his feelings — and, against the odds, it worked. Years later, Jukes stumbled across the original note in the family attic, discovering the tiny piece of paper that ultimately led to his own existence.
“I couldn’t not write a song about it,” he explains. “This is that song.”
Co-written and produced by GETH, ‘Lucy, When You Wake Up’ transforms an intimate family anecdote into a feel-good alt-pop rush, showcasing Jukes’ knack for pairing candid storytelling with irresistible pop songwriting.
The forthcoming Funny Little Feeling promises a similarly personal journey. Describing the record as a coming-of-age album, Jukes explores growing up, falling in love, heartbreak and the bittersweet pull of nostalgia — reflecting on a period of exciting, sometimes unsettling change.
“I'm more in love than I’ve ever been on this record, but I’m also learning how to deal with my world shifting around me,” he says. “It’s about trying to hold onto the things and people I love while accepting that everything is moving forward.”
With more than one million followers across social media, three EPs under his belt — most recently 2025’s All Dressed Up for Nothing — and a growing reputation on the live circuit, Jukes is fast becoming one to watch. He’s sold out headline shows in London, Brighton, Manchester and Leeds, played 26 dates across Europe with Only The Poets, and most recently supported Asha Banks on her North American tour.
Drawing influence from Joesef, Phoebe Bridgers and Sam Fender, Jukes continues to carve out a sound that balances big-hearted alt-pop with deeply personal songwriting.
