David Attenborough and Dave Team Up For One-Off 'Musical Documentary'

Acclaimed naturalist David Attenborough is set to team up with Mercury Prize-winner Dave and composer Hans Zimmer to create a one-off musical nature documentary. Comprising of footage taken from previous shows Blue Planet II and Planet Earth II, Planet Earth: A Celebration will include reworked scores performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, with Dave joining on piano.

BBC have stated that this special is “designed to lift viewers’ spirits during a time of international uncertainty”; something we could perhaps all do with at the moment.

“I’ve always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries. This is a programme where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer.", said Dave discussing the upcoming special.

The documentary is expected to air at the end of August.
