Rising alt-pop force Ula steps firmly into the spotlight today with the release of her debut EP Boysulk, a gripping 5-track project that cements her as one of the UK’s most compelling new voices. Mixing cinematic production with needle-sharp lyricism, the record marks the arrival of an artist who writes, produces, and engineers entirely on her own terms.
Out now via APOLLO Distribution, Boysulk brings together Ula’s most magnetic work to date. The EP weaves previously released singles — the haunting “So Kind”, the icy, introspective “In My Eyes”, and the electrifying “Danger” — with two new standouts: the atmospheric opener “Corridors” and the soaring closer “Best Day.”
The momentum behind Ula has been building fast. Record of the Day praised her debut “So Kind” as “a confident and creatively assured debut from an artist with a clear vision.” Rotate Magazine called “In My Eyes” a “haunting pop masterpiece,” while “Danger” earned BBC Radio 1 airplay and raves from Lock Magazine, who said it “cements her status as one of the UK’s most intriguing new voices in alt-pop.”
Critics continue to take notice:
“Never too sweet, never predictable — always anchored by Ula’s exquisite vocals.” – Glamglare“Warm synthesisers, glitchy electronics, and a theatrical vocal delivery.” – Record of the Day“A rich and immersive listen throughout.” –
