Tune Of The Day: Afternoon Cigarette By Heju

Heju is a South Korean born singer-songwriter currently based in Leeds, UK. Growing up in Daejeon, South Korea; listening to artists including Adele, Lianne La Havas, Corinne Bailey Rae and Eva Cassidy. The result is a soft, introspective style with a subtle hint of Jazz. Her distinct vocals are somehoq euphoric yet mournful, banging yet sad, drenched in keyboards. Heju's latest track Afternoon Cigarette sees her deliver yet another standout vocal performance, cemeting her as an essential artist to catch live in Leeds.

Since she released her debut single <Snow> on 2019, she's been releasing one EP and 8 singles. Heju performed at Sofar Sounds Leeds on 2019 and Tramlines 2021. Few of her songs has played on BBC Introducing West Yorkshire. She is heading to release two more singles on November and December and ready to release her another EP (or LP) 2022.
