Ireland’s live powerhouse The Scratch are back with news of their third album, Pull Like A Dog, set for release on 13 March 2026 via Music For Nations / Sony Ireland. Alongside the announcement, the band share the title track, a raw, genre-defying slice of acoustic/electric trad-metal fusion.
Written in Hellfire Studio, Dublin, with engineer Thomas Donoghue and producer John ‘Spud’ Murphy (Lankum, Black Midi, caroline), the album marks a new chapter for the band. Vocalist Daniel Lango explains: “It’s about tossing aside the idea of apologising for merely existing… grabbing life by the scruff and being loud about it.”
The new video, directed by Dublin-based Paul Gleeson and shot on the shores of Lough Ree, brings the track to life with cinematic flair. With the addition of Gary “Gaz” Regan on guitar/backing vocals, the four-piece are pushing their sound into bold new territory.
The Scratch have built a reputation as one of Ireland’s most spectacularly original acts, with their 2023 album Mind Yourself debuting at #1 on the Irish Vinyl Charts and earning a Choice Music Prize nomination, alongside regular support from BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music.
Fans can catch them on a European tour this November and a UK tour in April 2026, taking their explosive live energy across Dublin, Reykjavík, Berlin, Paris, London, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, and more.
