THE LIGHT SHOW RETURN WITH HIGH-VOLTAGE NEW SINGLE “CODE NAME E.M.M.A.”

Yorkshire indie-punk four-piece The Light Show are back with their latest single, “Code Name E.M.M.A.” — a fast, riff-heavy blast of guitars, hooks and barely-contained chaos.

Recorded by Kurt Wood at Corner House Recording Studio, the track captures the band at their most frenetic, combining huge guitar riffs, infectious melodies and chant-along choruses with the raw energy that has become their calling card.

Inspired by the likes of The Subways, JET and The Jam, The Light Show have built a reputation for sharp songwriting and explosive live shows, with songs that tackle the chaos, humour and frustrations of everyday life head-on.

And “Code Name E.M.M.A.” is no exception.

The track dives straight into the aftermath of a chaotic relationship, soundtracking the attempt to escape once it finally comes crashing down. It launches at full speed before briefly hitting the brakes for a chant-along middle eight, only to explode back into life and race towards a 100mph crescendo.

The result is a song where the music mirrors the subject perfectly: brash, frantic, unpredictable and impossible to ignore.

“That’s very catchy... Very fun, very punky... I like it – it’s good, it’s good, it’s good!”Chris Moyles, The Chris Moyles Show, Radio X

The band have already shared stages with Toploader, Cast, Antarctic Monkeys and The Complete Stone Roses, including packed-out shows at venues such as The Wardrobe in Leeds.

With “Code Name E.M.M.A.” now out in the world, The Light Show are continuing to build momentum — one release, one packed room and one chaotic live show at a time.
