Minneapolis shoegaze outfit she’s green are stepping into their next chapter. The five-piece have announced their new EP swallowtail, set for release on 10th July via Photo Finish Records, alongside the arrival of their latest single paper thin — a woozy, emotionally frayed track that leans into the blurred lines between lust and love.
Built on shimmering guitars and a slow-burning sense of detachment, paper thin captures the quiet collapse of a relationship. As vocalist Zofia Smith explains, the track “explores the power of lust in a dying relationship… how it can be confused for love when in reality, the relationship has already faded.”
The release lands with a self-directed video from band members Liam Armstrong and Smith, further cementing the band’s hands-on, DIY ethos — even as their profile continues to rise.
That rise has been rapid. Following support from NME, DIY, Dork and The Line of Best Fit — and a spot on the NME 100 for 2026 — she’s green have steadily outgrown their basement show beginnings in Minneapolis. Their blend of gauzy shoegaze textures and cutting emotional clarity has seen them sell out shows on both sides of the Atlantic, including a debut London headline date last year.
Now, with swallowtail, the band are sharpening that identity. Working with producer Sonny DiPerri (DIIV, julie), the new material pushes their sound into richer, more expansive territory — from the crunch of previous single mettle to the melodic sweep of paper thin.
But beneath the haze, there’s a band increasingly rooted in the real world. In recent months, she’s green have used their platform to speak out on political tensions in their hometown of Minneapolis, aligning themselves with grassroots movements and contributing to community-led projects.
It’s that balance — introspective yet outward-looking, dreamy yet grounded — that continues to define them.
With appearances at Reading & Leeds Festival locked in for August and more live dates expected, she’s green are moving well beyond their origins — without losing the intimacy that got them there.
swallowtail arrives 10th July.
