Pynch Share Introspective New Single Ahead of Second Album

With their highly anticipated sophomore album just over a month away, Pynch are set to release their new single “How You Love Someone” tomorrow, Wednesday 27th August.

A sharp contrast to the post-punk energy of their previous single, “How You Love Someone” showcases a more cinematic and introspective side of the band. Built on lo-fi guitars and shimmering new wave synths, the track is a restless dissection of modern love — a deeply personal reflection on a relationship that meant everything but ultimately couldn’t last. The accompanying video, shot on a 90s Hi8 camera, perfectly captures the song’s nostalgic, DIY aesthetic. Watch it here.

Following their acclaimed debut Howling at a Concrete Moon, which captured the disaffection of youth in austerity-era Britain, Pynch’s upcoming album Beautiful Noise (out 3rd October via Chillburn Recordings) turns the gaze inward. Produced by frontman Spencer Enock in the band’s home studio, with drums tracked by Stereolab’s Andy Ramsay, the record is a lo-fi odyssey mixing glitchy electronics, new wave synths, breakbeats, and slacker-rock charm. Mixed by Jimmy Robertson (Fat Dog / Los Campesinos!), it’s both intimate and ambitious, exploring love, death, faith, and the pursuit of meaning through art.

The album introduces new member Myles Gammon on synths and features vocals and drums from Julianna Hopkins. Artwork from Spencer’s brother Scott, crafted with hand-developed 35mm photos, echoes the record’s DIY ethos. Between Pavement, Blur, and New Order, Beautiful Noise cements Pynch as a band unafraid to be vulnerable, messy, and quietly transcendent.

Stay tuned for “How You Love Someone” and the full album this October.
