Jennifer Herrema's Black Bananas Drop New Single "Eddie's Album" Ahead of First LP in a Decade

Jennifer Herrema's Black Bananas have unveiled "Eddie's Album," the latest preview of their long-awaited new album Bad Bunch, due September 4 via Fire Records.

The track is another left-field blast from Herrema and co., pairing hypnotic grooves, fractured pop hooks and restless rhythms into a futuristic yet strangely familiar slice of underground rock. Operating firmly outside the mainstream while remaining irresistibly hooky, "Eddie's Album" continues the band's shape-shifting sonic evolution.

Bad Bunch marks Black Bananas' first full-length since 2014's Electric Brick Wall and Herrema's first release since Royal Trux's 2019 comeback album White Stuff. The record was assembled over more than a decade, with work beginning in 2015 before being continually revisited and rebuilt into its final form.

Now a trio featuring Herrema alongside longtime collaborators Brian McKinley and Kurt Midness, Black Bananas continue to blur the lines between rock, electronic music, funk and experimental pop. The trio's chemistry stretches back more than 20 years to Herrema's post-Royal Trux outfit RTX, with Bad Bunch capturing the band at their most fluid and unpredictable.

The album will be released digitally, on CD, and on vinyl, including a standard red LP and a limited yellow-and-black banana splatter indie edition.
