Emerging singer-songwriter Chloe Clouds is quickly making her mark with raw, relatable lyrics, smooth breathy tones, and a unique blend of Americana, country, and pop. Her music, which has featured on BBC Radio, draws inspiration from heartbreak, love, and self-discovery, while her sassy, independent attitude brings a fresh perspective to modern songwriting.
Her new single, Same Page, drops on 22nd August and is an upbeat, playful pop-country track about the uncertainties of dating, blending infectious melodies with heartfelt lyrics. Co-written and produced with Tyler Spicer, the song marks a fun, free-spirited addition to Chloe’s forthcoming debut EP, which promises to showcase her versatile sound — from country-infused grooves to soulful ballads. We caught up with Chloe to talk inspiration, collaboration, and what fans can expect next.
1. “Same Page” is such a fun, upbeat track — can you tell us the story behind it?
I met a cute guy that summer who was hot and cold — we had a magical kiss, but nothing really materialized. I’m a hopeless romantic, and I realized that if someone isn’t meeting me halfway, I lose interest. That simple idea became the inspiration for the song. It flowed quickly one evening, and Tyler added his amazing touch with some playful country vibes, and Same Page was born.
2. You describe this single as playful pop-country with a Shaboozey vibe — was that deliberate?
Not at all! I wrote it back in 2023 before Shaboozey’s big hit. I wanted something lighter and fun after doing a lot of heartbreak songs. It’s just a groove about dating and those little doubts we all feel, like “do they still like me?” I hope listeners relate and have fun with it.
3. You worked with Tyler Spicer on this track — what was that collaboration like?
Tyler and I met in Nashville at a music conference, and we’ve written several tracks together since. He’s an amazing producer with a fantastic ear for originality and vocal production. He’s patient, professional, and has really helped me grow as an artist — especially in bringing out my love for country music.
4. The lyrics talk about wanting to be aligned in dating — what message do you hope listeners take away?
I hope people relate to the feeling of uncertainty in dating. Communication is key, and it’s important to find people who meet you halfway and want to grow a vision together. If someone isn’t putting in consistent effort, it’s okay to move on — it’s about self-respect and clarity.
5. Who are your biggest musical influences, and how do they inspire your sound?
Chris Stapleton for his voice, Adele for powerful ballads, Lady Gaga for theatrical and dramatic performance, and Lainey Wilson for clever, heartfelt songwriting. They all inspire different aspects of my style — from vocals to storytelling to emotional connection.
6. With your new EP on the horizon, can you give us hints about what’s next?
The EP will be playful and dating-focused, but I’m also working on deeper, meaningful songs. I recently did a piano duet with Angela Bivins, which is very Lady Gaga-esque. I’ve grown a lot in Nashville, and I can’t wait to share this next chapter. Touring is on the cards too — watch this space!
