Nina Las Vegas Reworks Swick & King Doudou’s ‘Calor’ for Club-Ready Remix
Nina Las Vegas is back behind the decks and in the studio, putting her own high-energy spin on ‘Calor’, the Swick and King Doudou collaboration featuring Ms Nina. The remix is out now via NLV Records, ahead of the forthcoming Digi Mangal (Remixes) EP, landing October 30.
Taking the original’s reggaeton and dembow influences and pushing them into peak-time territory, Las Vegas ramps up the pace with extra bass, punchier drums and a brighter, harder-hitting club sound.
“I love the original ‘Calor’ but every time I played it, I found myself naturally speeding it up,” she explains. “The remix developed from there, adding extra bass and drums to make it even more dance and club ready. Plus, nothing beats Nina’s remixing Nina’s!”
The release brings things full circle for Las Vegas, whose NLV Records has become a key platform for forward-thinking Australian club music. It also marks a return to production following ‘Shot Caller’, her collaboration with Swick and Zanilya, with more solo material on the way.
The remix leads Digi Mangal (Remixes), a four-track package featuring further reworks from DJ ADHD, Carli and Strict Face. The original Digi Mangal project grew out of Swick and King Doudou’s long-running creative partnership, which began with their 2014 Internet Dreams EP and brings together high-voltage club production and a shared love of global dance music.
The new remix also soundtracks the latest instalment of NLV Presents, Las Vegas’s mix and event series championing underground club sounds and emerging talent.
With its extra weight and dancefloor-first energy, ‘Calor’ gets a fresh lease of life — and a reminder of why Nina Las Vegas remains a force in the global club scene.
