iowna Return With Haunting New Single ‘SOMEWHERE ELSE’

Bristol alt-rock/electronic duo iowna are back with ‘SOMEWHERE ELSE’, a restless, dreamlike second single that captures the unease of feeling disconnected in an increasingly connected world.

Out now via APOLLO Distribution, the track builds around a pulsing electronic beat, gathering momentum as heavy drums and warped synths collide with hazy, atmospheric textures. The result is hypnotic and unsettling, balancing dreamy passages with abrasive bursts of sound.

Written in response to the darkness of the world around them, ‘SOMEWHERE ELSE’ explores the tension between being physically present and mentally somewhere else entirely. It’s a feeling that runs both deeply personal and universally relatable, giving the duo’s experimental sound a sharp emotional edge.

The single follows debut release ‘WIDTH OR DEPTH’, continuing iowna’s boundary-pushing blend of alternative rock, electronic production and acoustic instrumentation. Drawing inspiration from Young Fathers, Wu Lu, Saya Gray and Nilüfer Yanya, the duo are carving out a sound that refuses to sit neatly in one lane.

Both singles lead towards their debut EP, Here it is where I am burning, due in November. Exploring personal and collective pain — including the wounds inflicted by others and those we inflict on ourselves — the project promises to push further into the darker instincts shaping iowna’s music.
