Leeds dream-pop outfit Bug Teeth unveil new remixes ahead of End of the Road

Leeds psych/dream-pop project Bug Teeth have shared My Stupid Tree-Frog Daughter/Thin Circle (Remixes), a new two-track release featuring reworks from fellow Leeds artists TURNSPIT and Far Caspian.

Released today, 19 August, via state51 distribution, the remixes arrive as Bug Teeth gear up for a London headline at The George Tavern on 24 August, followed by an appearance at End of the Road Festival on 3 September.

The new release puts the electronic thread running through Bug Teeth’s music firmly in the spotlight, while highlighting the collaborative spirit of Leeds’ thriving independent music scene. TURNSPIT takes on My Stupid Tree-Frog Daughter, while Far Caspian reshapes Thin Circle, transforming two tracks from Bug Teeth’s acclaimed 2025 debut album, Micrographia, into something distinctly new.

“After writing an album about grief, putting our songs in new hands could only have felt right with musicians that we love and are inspired by,” says Bug Teeth band leader PJ Johnson. “TURNSPIT and Far Caspian have given My Stupid Tree-Frog Daughter and Thin Circle a whole new depth and meaning, making them even more special to us.”

Released in November 2025, Micrographia established Bug Teeth as one of the UK’s most intriguing emerging psych-pop acts. A deeply personal record shaped by the loss of Johnson’s mother in 2021, the album balances grief with warmth, experimentation and an expansive sense of possibility.

The record has since picked up support from BBC Radio 6 Music, including Lauren Laverne, Emily Pilbeam and Don Letts, alongside widespread critical acclaim. Loud & Quiet called it “one of the finest British debuts of the year”, while Far Out Magazine named it Album of the Week, describing the record as “utterly timeless”. CLASH, The Line of Best Fit, KEXP and DIY have also praised the album’s ambitious, carefully constructed sound.

The momentum has carried into Bug Teeth’s live shows. Following UK dates including a hometown headline at Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club and an appearance at The Great Escape, the band have shared stages with Drugdealer, Melody’s Echo Chamber, mary in the junkyard, English Teacher and A.R. Kane, alongside festival appearances at Live At Leeds, Deer Shed, Wide Awake, Latitude and Sound City.

Now, with their new remixes out in the world and two major dates on the horizon, Bug Teeth are continuing to push their quietly expansive sound into new territory — one collaboration at a time.
