Introducing: BOLD LOVE

BOLD LOVE are the kind of band that make you stop, listen, and feel. Fresh off a major UK tour with Cliffords and a string of buzzy singles, the fast-rising Dublin six-piece return with ‘I’m Home’—a stunning, slow-burning homage to the wild beauty of County Kerry. With haunting harmonies from Cian Ó’Maonlaí and Megan Nic Ruairí and production by Richie Kennedy (Interpol, Celeste), the track offers a moment of stillness and soul amid the chaos of city life. As the band gears up for a huge summer—playing The Great Escape, Latitude, and Forbidden Fruit—we sat down with them to talk roots, connection, and what “home” really means.

"I’m Home" feels like a very personal song for you. Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind it and how the place, Dún Chaoin, in County Kerry shaped its creation?

Yeah, it is. It’s such a significant place for me. It has shaped my identity and my connection to the land, our language and our culture. I feel like it connects me to my dad and him to his, it’s the thread that connects my whole family. When I’m there I feel that connection intensely and immediately, and I wanted to write a song to describe that.

Following your major UK tour supporting Cliffords and the success of your previous single "Talking & Drifting," how has the momentum influenced your approach to writing and performing new material?

We’re just becoming more efficient with it I’d say. We’re trying to incorporate writing into every rehearsal we have and individually into our day to day. The approach is still the same but we’re just trying to be consistent with it. Going on tour with Clifford’s was amazing for lots of reasons and one of them was being able to try out our new tunes in front of live audiences. I think that’s a vital part of the process, otherwise it can be a bit of an echo chamber in the writing room.

This track has a raw, intimate feel. How did you and the band work with producer Richie Kennedy to create the atmospheric sound of "I’m Home"?

Thanks! Richie was unreal to work with and a totally new experience for us. We really got stuck in to the song together and he got performances from us that I think give that intimacy you’re hearing.

As BOLD LOVE’s first full body of work approaches, how would you describe the evolution of your sound from earlier releases to what fans can expect from the upcoming album?

Our sound develops all the time and that’s what really excites us. We try to expand and experiment all the time but it’s important to hold on to what makes you unique too. I’m not sure if that answers the question!

You’ve already earned significant praise and a strong following, but there’s still a sense that you’re just getting started. What does the future hold for BOLD LOVE, especially with your upcoming festival appearances?

We just want to keep busy, keep gigging and write and release music we love. Lots of exciting things have happened so far and hopefully there is lots more to come. The exciting things come from making great music so we’re fully focused on that.
