ALEX AMOR SHARES EMOTIONAL NEW SINGLE "INSIDE" AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM HEAVENLY BODIES

Scottish singer-songwriter also joins Lorde's All Points East line-up as anticipation builds for her debut LP.

Scottish singer-songwriter Alex Amor has unveiled her poignant new single "Inside," the final preview of her long-awaited debut album, Heavenly Bodies, arriving 21st August via VERO Music.

Coinciding with the announcement that she'll perform on Lorde's All Points East bill the day after the album's release, "Inside" arrives as one of Amor's most affecting songs to date—a soaring indie-pop anthem that finds beauty in grief, vulnerability and the difficult process of healing.

Described by Amor as "a sad-banger lullaby for loved ones gone too soon," the track balances buoyant, guitar-led melodies with some of her most candid songwriting yet. Exploring themes of compounded grief, generational trauma and dissociation, "Inside" reflects on the instinct to pull away from connection in order to avoid the pain of loss, while ultimately embracing vulnerability as an act of survival.

"It's about coming to terms with compounded grief, generational trauma and taking a stark look at one of the coping mechanisms that defined much of my twenties: dissociation," Amor explains. "Part of love is accepting loss, making space for grief, and finding the courage to feel it all."

Originally written as an expansive poem, "Inside" evolved into the emotional centrepiece of Heavenly Bodies after producer Baz Kaye encouraged Amor to preserve every lyric. The result is an ambitious five-and-a-half-minute track that pairs deeply personal storytelling with an uplifting sense of release, inspired in part by the optimism Kaye and co-writer Peter Brien brought back from Glastonbury Festival.

The single offers another glimpse into Heavenly Bodies, an album that sees Amor expand her indie-pop roots into richer, more immersive territory. Inspired by meditation, rune reading and the spiritual artwork of Hilma af Klint, the record explores love, loss and human connection through celestial imagery, shimmering guitars and hypnotic production. Written between London and Glasgow with Peter Brien, Baz Kaye and Karma Kid, it marks Amor's most fully realised work to date.

The release follows a breakout year for the Scottish artist, with appearances at The Great Escape, Liverpool Sound City and Footsteps Festival, alongside support slots with Liang Lawrence and Prima Queen. Having already amassed more than eight million streams and earned praise from DIY, The Line of Best Fit, CLASH, Wonderland and Notion, Amor continues her upward trajectory with a debut album that promises to be her most ambitious statement yet.

With Heavenly Bodies landing on 21st August, followed immediately by a performance at All Points East alongside Lorde, "Inside" feels like the perfect final chapter before Alex Amor steps into her biggest era yet.
