Northampton garage-rock firestarters Fountain have dropped the video for their blistering new single ‘Son Of A Gun’, a high-octane blast of punked-up chaos taken from their upcoming EP Big Bag Of New Nothings, out 13th January.
Described by New Noise as “a garage rock powerhouse” and hailed by DORK for their “punchy garage rock,” Fountain’s latest offering hits like a gut punch. Clocking in at a razor-sharp 1:55, the track fuses snarling spoken-word trade-offs with a hook-heavy chorus, all driven by gritty, distorted production and the duo’s unmistakable livewire energy.
Vocalist/guitarist Jordan Noon and drummer Ally Wilkinson channel the intensity of a cinematic showdown — quite literally.“‘Son Of A Gun’ was written as the score to a film that existed only in Jordan’s mind,” the band explain. “It’s a punk-fuelled bar fight of a track… a gritty on-screen showdown full of bravado, adrenaline, and raw energy.”
Since forming in 2023, Fountain have surged through the UK alt-rock ranks with their widescreen take on garage rock. A sold-out debut headline show, standout festival slots, and support from BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Introducing, plus tastemaker praise from New Noise, DORK, Earmilk, and Louder Than War, have all marked them as one of the most exciting new acts in the scene.
Drawing from The OSEES, Queens of the Stone Age, The Black Keys, and even the sweeping cinematic influence of Ennio Morricone, the duo trade precision and chaos in equal measure — a volatile chemistry that fuels every second of ‘Son Of A Gun’.
