Rising London alt-pop artist and producer Emma Elizabeth returns with her deeply affecting new single “Overwhelmed”, a spellbinding track shaped by her emotional journey toward understanding and embracing her recent autism diagnosis.
Intimate, story-like, and disarmingly honest, “Overwhelmed” captures the raw moment of learning to accept yourself fully — and the quiet relief that follows. Built on soft vocals, sparse instrumentation and a shimmering, slowly blooming production, the track mirrors the vulnerable, tangled feelings at its core.
“I got an autism diagnosis in April of this year,” Emma shares. “I wrote and produced this song as a way to make sense of how I was feeling — the big emotions, the clarity, and the sadness for the younger versions of myself who thought they were broken.”
Released via APOLLO Distribution, the self-produced single marks a powerful shift for the emerging artist, who aims to create more space in music for stories of neurodivergence and lived experience.
“There isn’t enough music that reflects the autistic experience or raises awareness of what it’s really like,” she adds. “I want to change that — one song at a time.”
With its gentle build, emotional precision, and a production style that feels both delicate and hopeful, “Overwhelmed” positions Emma Elizabeth as a compelling new voice for a generation navigating neurodivergence, mental health, and identity.
The single is lifted from her forthcoming six-track EP, a project exploring themes of belonging, survival in the modern world, and the beauty of seeing life differently — underscoring her growth as both an artist and a producer shaping her own distinctive sonic universe.
