Dolly Doops Unveils Debut EP The View From Here

London-born, Isle of Wight-based alt-pop artist Dolly Doops has officially arrived with her debut EP, The View From Here.

Out now, the six-track project is a glittering mix of retro-pop, indie synths and infectious grooves, tackling queer love, joy, loss and personal growth without losing Doops’ playful edge.

The EP has been 18 months in the making, growing from bedroom-written and self-produced ideas into a fully realised project alongside executive producer Seegz. At its heart is “Lonely Nights”, first written in Brooklyn in 2022 and kept back as a blueprint for the sound Doops wanted to create.

Across The View From Here, emotional honesty meets big, danceable production, with Doops turning difficult moments into songs that still demand a move. Her influences span MUNA, Tove Lo, HAIM and Ariana Grande, while her own sound brings together alt-pop, synth-pop and tongue-in-cheek lyricism.

The release also lands alongside a headline show at London’s Strongroom on September 4, where Doops will perform with her band The Frooty Loops.

After two years of building a live following around London, 14 shows since spring and support from BBC Introducing and Wonderland, Dolly Doops is stepping firmly into her own “Doopiverse” — and The View From Here is the first proper look inside.
