Disclosure are back with their first release of 2026, unveiling new single “The Sun Comes Up Tremendous” alongside a cinematic official video.
Out now via Disorder / Capitol Records, the track marks the first time since 2023’s Alchemy that Howard Lawrence has taken on lead vocal duties — a shift that brings a more internal, reflective tone to the duo’s latest output. Where recent releases like “Deeper” leaned into club immediacy, “The Sun Comes Up Tremendous” pulls things inward. Built around layered synths, restrained vocals and slow-building tension, the track explores the space between confidence and self-doubt — playing out like a late-night inner monologue that gradually unravels. It’s a more expansive, emotionally-driven direction, trading peak-time impact for something more atmospheric and narrative-led.
The accompanying video, directed by Colt Grice and Moldyroom, mirrors that tone. Shot on the California coast, it places Guy and Howard in an open-air structure at dusk, with the gradual loss of light echoing the track’s underlying tension.
The release lands as the duo prepare to kick off their Spring 2026 North American tour, starting April 7 with a two-night run at Santa Barbara Bowl. The run includes major stops across the US, multiple-night stands in cities like Denver, Atlanta and Chicago, and a return to Coachella across both weekends. A series of newly added DJ shows — including dates in Vancouver, Miami and Washington, DC — expands the run further.
Now over a decade into their career, Disclosure continue to shift their sound without losing their core identity. “The Sun Comes Up Tremendous” signals a more introspective phase — one that prioritises depth and mood as much as movement.
