Brighton alt-rock duo WREX are taking things to the next level. Fresh off the release of their acclaimed new EP SADWORLD, the rising independent outfit have unveiled their biggest headline tour yet, including a string of UK dates and their first-ever headline shows across mainland Europe.
Kicking off in Blackpool on 24 September, the extensive run will see the band tear through cities including Stockport, London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leeds and Glasgow before crossing the Channel for dates in Belgium, Germany, Poland, Czechia, Austria, Luxembourg and more.
The announcement caps off a huge year for WREX, who continue to prove that relentless hard work and grassroots momentum can still cut through. Already confirmed for major festivals including Bloodstock, Burn It Down and Loud Women, the duo have built a reputation as one of the UK's most exciting emerging alternative acts through sheer determination and an explosive live show.
Having played an impressive 54 shows over the past year, WREX have spent 2025 relentlessly touring the UK, supporting the likes of The Hunna and Hacktivist while winning over crowds at festivals including The Great Escape in their hometown of Brighton.
The tour news follows the arrival of SADWORLD, the band's long-awaited new EP. Across five hard-hitting tracks, WREX tackle themes of anxiety, uncertainty and self-doubt, while balancing the darkness with moments of resilience and hope.
Reflecting on the band's evolution, vocalist Mae Seaton explains: “The last year has been about getting out there and pushing ourselves – playing as much as we can, meeting people, and feeling that connection in real time. We've played 54 shows over the last year, and that's completely changed our perspective.”
She continues: “This EP is about taking our personal experiences and opening them up in a way that other people can identify with. SADWORLD is more of a reflection on the impact of the world in its current state, and on the community.”
Comprised of longtime friends Mae Seaton and George Donoghue, WREX first formed in Brighton in 2020. Since then, the duo have steadily carved out a name for themselves with their emotionally charged songwriting, unfiltered lyricism and powerful live performances.
With a packed festival season, a growing fanbase and their most ambitious headline run yet on the horizon, WREX are entering a defining chapter—and they're showing no signs of slowing down.
