WILDES releases bewitching manifesto for love "Lay Upon Me", new EP 'Subsidence' out 15th March

London singer-songwriter WILDES has unleashed her latest single, "Lay Upon Me," serving as a heartfelt 'manifesto for love'. This captivating track is a glimpse into her upcoming EP 'Subsidence', slated for release on March 15 via Apollo. WILDES, the brainchild of Anglo-Irish musician and producer Ella Walker, made waves with her debut album 'Other Words Fail Me' in January 2023, featuring a collaboration with The Flaming Lips on "True Love".

Returning to her roots, Walker self-produced and recorded the entirety of 'Subsidence' from her Dalston flat, with mixing duties handled by frequent collaborator Matt Wiggins (Adele, Florence and the Machine). The EP delves into the aftermath of a poignant breakup, a theme close to WILDES' heart.

"Lay Upon Me" enchants with its minimalist approach, driven by soft piano chords and ethereal percussion, as Walker's commanding vocals deliver a poignant reflection on the essence of love. In her own words, WILDES describes "Lay Upon Me" as "a manifesto for love," a tender declaration of her desires and vulnerabilities. Drawing inspiration from the likes of PJ Harvey and Patti Smith, WILDES showcases a captivating evolution in her self-produced EP, from the lush harmonies of "I Was New" to the haunting "Flow Through".

Following the success of her debut album, which chronicled her journey of survival and self-discovery, WILDES continues to captivate audiences with her introspective songwriting and compelling melodies. With over 60 million streams and notable sync placements on US TV shows, WILDES' star continues to rise.

Don't miss WILDES' intimate headline shows in Bristol, Leeds, and London in March, as she celebrates the release of 'Subsidence'.
