UNIIQU3 GOES GLOBAL ON NEW SINGLE ‘PAPI’ WITH SWICK AND SPANK ROCK

Jersey Club powerhouse UNIIQU3 is back with new single ‘Papi’, teaming up with Australian producer Swick and Baltimore trailblazer Spank Rock for the latest preview of her forthcoming debut album.

Out today (September 2) via Local Action, ‘Papi’ is the third single to emerge from UNIIQU3’s new era, following ‘Mile High Club’ and ‘Calling My Name’, her collaboration with Leonce and Cakes Da Killa.

This time, though, things are firmly aimed at the dancefloor.

‘Papi’ is an all-out club record, with UNIIQU3 drawing on the energy of Latin dancefloors she has encountered while touring and DJing in cities including Barcelona and Mexico City. Swick brings the production, while Spank Rock and Jazz Alonso contribute vocals to a track UNIIQU3 describes as “fun and in your face”, with a more mysterious edge running through the lyrics.

“PAPI embodies the energy of the Latin Dance Clubs I’d DJ in Spain and Mexico,” she says. “From the beat to the lyrics I wanted it to match the energy I feel every time I hit the dance floor in a city like Barcelona or Mexico City.”

The single is another major step towards UNIIQU3’s debut album, which is set to be announced in the coming weeks.

It also continues a remarkable run for the Jersey Club pioneer. Her recent return to Local Action follows the success of 2021’s Heartbeats EP and ‘Microdosing’ — the latter becoming the first Jersey Club record to be long-listed for a Grammy.

Since then, UNIIQU3’s reach has only grown. She has toured with Tinashe, remixed the pop star’s hit ‘Nasty’, opened for Beyoncé on the Renaissance World Tour, earned platinum recognition as a co-writer for Chlöe and seen her work sampled by Doechii.

With ‘Papi’, UNIIQU3 is once again stretching the boundaries of the sound she has spent years taking around the world. If the first three singles are anything to go by, her debut album is shaping up to be a record built from movement — across cities, scenes and packed-out dancefloors.

The next stop is imminent.
