Tune of the Day: Finn Foxell's "Headspin"
Our tune of the day is courtesy of Shepherds Bush rapper-singer Finn Foxell drops his latest single, "Headspin," a powerful prelude to his debut album due later this year. An anchor within the London music scene, Finn continues to push the boundaries of his sound, blending Alt-Punk, Indie, and Rap in a multi-genre fusion produced by Subculture (Zino Vinci, Deema). "Headspin" addresses the trials and tribulations of being in your mid-20s in Britain, tackling societal pressures and their side effects with poignant lyricism.
The accompanying video, directed by long-term collaborator Zeeyad, is a tale of two halves, capturing the intensity of a pulsating football match, mirroring the song's energetic and introspective duality.
Music runs deep in Finn's veins, with a songwriter father and performer mother shaping his early passion. Introduced to Grime by his older brother, Finn became obsessed with UK freestyles and cyphers, immersing himself in the pioneering era of Channel U, JDZ Media, SBTV, and Grime Daily. By his mid-teens, he had formed Elevation Meditation, a collective of like-minded artists (P-Rallel, Lord Apex, Xav, and Louis Culture), becoming one of the most celebrated collectives in London.
At 25, Finn's impressive discography has taken him across the UK and EU, including a debut performance at Glastonbury last year. His recent single "Alive" was championed by BBC Radio 1 DJ Alyx Holcombe's Indie Show and featured on COLORS and Wonderland. Sitting front row at Robyn Lynch's LFW catwalk alongside Jeshi and Louis Culture, Finn's creative influences continue to expand.
"Headspin" signifies a bold direction for Finn's upcoming project, set to be announced soon. Stay tuned for more from this rising star. For more information on Finn Foxell, follow him on Instagram, Spotify, Twitter, and YouTube.
