Truthpaste return with their latest single “Bus Song”, a bold, emotionally charged release that continues to cement their reputation as one of the UK’s most intriguing emerging acts. Out now via Dirty Hit and Memorials Of Distinction, the track sees the five-piece pushing further into their shapeshifting, genre-defying sound.
Blending elements of pop, acoustic folk and electronics, “Bus Song” introduces a more overtly emo-leaning edge to the band’s palette — a side previously reserved for their live shows. It’s a track that thrives on contrast, pairing raw sentiment with layered instrumentation and a restless creative energy.
Speaking on the release, Esmé describes it simply: “Bus song is our emo rock song… we don’t stick to one thing, if it sounds good we’ll do it.” That fluid, instinct-led approach has quickly become central to Truthpaste’s identity, allowing them to move freely between sonic worlds without losing cohesion.
The release follows a breakout year for the band. Debut single “See You Around” was championed by Steve Lamacq as one of his favourite first releases of 2025, while follow-up “Bleary Eyes” further positioned them as a must-watch act. Both singles sold out their vinyl runs and picked up strong radio and streaming support, signalling serious momentum.
Now, with “Bus Song”, Truthpaste continue to build on that early promise — a band unafraid to lean into unpredictability, sincerity and experimentation in equal measure.
The release arrives ahead of their UK headline tour this May, including a London date at The Lexington, alongside stops in Leeds, Manchester, Leicester and Brighton as part of The Great Escape.
