TRISTÁN! is back with a vibrant new double release, dropping ‘El Acabose’ and ‘Ah! Ah! Ah!’ — two contrasting tracks that showcase his shape-shifting approach to pop. Out now via Rusia-IDK, the pair land following a strong run of live dates, including shows supporting Juana Molina in London and labelmate Rusowsky across Europe.
Across the two tracks, TRISTÁN! leans into duality. ‘El Acabose’ drifts through a hazy, downtempo jazz-fusion palette, जबकि ‘Ah! Ah! Ah!’ flips the mood entirely — all wiry guitars, punk energy and indie-pop immediacy. Both are loosely inspired by the chaotic romance of 1970s New York, balancing playful spontaneity with an undercurrent of melancholy.
Co-produced with Roy Borland, the release captures TRISTÁN!’s instinct for turning minimal elements into rich,character-driven sound worlds — a quality that’s quickly made him one of Madrid’s most intriguing pop experimentalists.
Having already road-tested both tracks on tour, this double single feels like more than a standalone drop — it’s an early signal of a larger project still to come later this year.
For now, ‘El Acabose’ and ‘Ah! Ah! Ah!’ offer a sharp, unpredictable return — and a reminder that TRISTÁN! thrives in the space between genres.
