Off the back of their electric performance at the iconic Download Festival, Frozemode, made up of the unbreakable trio I.V.GATLIN, Cho-Hollo, and Lisong, return with their latest blazing single “KURAMA”. Packed with raw punch and gritty lyricism, Frozemode maintains their fast-rising status. Landing on the heels of “BLACK HOLE,” a track that “embodies the group's signature high-energy style, blending heavy drums with roaring flows” (DMY), the boys are gearing up supporters for their forthcoming mixtape, ‘DEMODE 2’, set to drop on August 23rd.
Arriving as the third single from the highly anticipated ‘DEMODE 2’ mixtape, “KURAMA” boasts a climatic production drenched in roaring electric guitars and tight lyrical flows, resulting in a wheel-up worthy single that emphasizes the trio’s creative prowess. Going back-to-back with unapologetic bars, Frozemode continue to experiment with their sound, pushing an unconventional wave that resonates globally. Referencing the Naruto character Kurama, a nine-tailed beast renowned for its strength, resilience, and power, Frozemode alludes to the character’s traits throughout the single, “Bet the beast in me could wrap Kurama / Blow the whole roof of this dunya / Really coming like the 20 tailed beast”.
The alt-rap trio, consisting of I.V.GATLIN, Cho-Hollo, and Lisong, debuted at the end of 2022 and have since rocketed to fame. Known for their masterful penmanship, playful bars, and ingenious melodies, Frozemode is swiftly capturing the nation’s attention with their genre-warping sound. Based in London, the trio has garnered tremendous support from the UK media upon their 2024 return, including praise from Clash Magazine, NME, Wonderland, DORK, DIY, DMY, and Kerrang!. They’ve received spins from BBC Radio 1 DJs Alyx Holcombe, Nels Hylton, and Jess Iszatt, as well as BBC 6 Music, and support from Spotify UK’s ‘Fresh Finds UK & IRE’ playlist.
In just over 12 months, Frozemode has made a significant impact on the live music scene, dubbed one of the most exciting live acts to emerge from 2023 by BBC and NME. Their previous releases have been championed by Complex UK, Culted, Notion, Ones to Watch, and BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders. They’ve earned spots on Spotify UK’s ‘New Music Friday’ and ‘Fresh Finds UK & IRE’ playlists, and Apple Music’s ‘Breaking Hard Rock’ and ‘New in Alternative’ playlists.
Frozemode’s live performances have been equally impressive. They’ve toured with US stars Joey Valance & Brae, supported Jelani Blackman, Dumb Buoys Fishing Club, performed at Fabric’s “Live & Direct” night alongside Tiggs Da Author, Lauren Faith, and Sam Gellaitry, and headlined Abbie McCarthy’s iconic Karma Club Night. Dominating their first festival season with slots at Reading and Leeds, 2000trees, and The Great Escape, Frozemode has played over 50 shows to date.
Recently, they electrified the stage at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Download Festival’s Dogtooth stage. This summer, they’ll continue to captivate audiences at Reading & Leeds on the BBC Radio 1 stage, 2000trees, Deer Shed Festival, and Barnstomper Festival.
