MM’99 Shares Ghostly Revenge Anthem ‘S4M’ Ahead of Windmill Headline Show

London-via-Poland electro-pop artist MM’99 is turning trauma into something darker, louder and built for the strobe lights.

Her new single ‘S4M’ — short for ‘Suffer For Me’ — is a ghostly, high-energy collision of witchhouse, hyper-pop, electro and eurotrance. Produced by MM’99 herself, the track pushes shuddering synths and raw, right-on-the-edge vocals into a nightmarish electronic landscape that feels as intoxicating as it does unsettling.

Following recent single ‘Glitter’ and her debut EP Hex, ‘S4M’ has already become a staple of MM’99’s live set, offering a furious take on trauma, recovery and refusing to remain defined by victimhood.

“Its definitely my angriest, most aggressive release yet,” MM’99 says, describing how the track pushed her to experiment with crunchier production and more direct vocals. At its core, the song is about processing trauma through the stages of recovery, ultimately making space for expression and freedom.

The accompanying video takes things even further into MM’99’s strange, dreamlike world. Self-directed and edited by the artist, the pastel-toned visual draws on early-Tumblr aesthetics and pays tribute to a scene from David Lynch’s Inland Empire, filmed using the same cameras used for the original production.

MM’99 has quickly established herself as a regular at London’s Brixton Windmill, sharing stages with Another Country $$$$, TURNSPIT, Tatyana and Aki Oke, while also opening for NYC artist Swordes at Moth Club this summer.

With a sound that sits somewhere between Crystal Castles, Ninajirachi, Underscores and Eartheater, MM’99 is carving out a distinctly chaotic corner of London’s underground electronic scene.
