Manic Street Preachers Mark Milestone 150th Show at Teenage Cancer Trust Royal Albert Hall Series

The Teenage Cancer Trust concert series returned to the Royal Albert Hall in spectacular fashion last night, as Manic Street Preachers delivered a powerful headline set to celebrate the landmark 150th show in the iconic run.

Part of a week curated by Robert Smith, the performance was nothing short of electrifying. Opening with a blistering Motorcycle Emptiness, the band tore through a career-spanning set packed with fan favourites, anthems and standout covers — including a crowd-pleasing rendition of The Cure’s Close To Me. The night built to an emotional finale with If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next, bringing the packed hall to its feet.

The show forms part of the 2026 Teenage Cancer Trust series, in association with Aldi, which continues to unite some of the world’s biggest artists for an essential cause. This year’s line-up also features Elbow, Mogwai, Garbage and Wolf Alice, alongside a special night of comedy curated by Smith.

Since launching, the series has raised over £36 million for Teenage Cancer Trust — funding specialist care and support for young people facing cancer. Marking the milestone, Interim CEO Jules Worrall called the 150th show “a testament to the incredible community of artists, fans and supporters who have helped change thousands of lives.”

With unforgettable performances and a mission that continues to resonate, the 2026 series once again proves that live music can be a powerful force for good.
