Ivan Nicolas is back with ‘Moving On’, a soaring new indie-rock single that sets the tone for his forthcoming debut album, due October 16.
Blending driving drums, shimmering guitars and a raw, emotive vocal, ‘Moving On’ captures Nicolas at his most expansive — a track that feels equally suited to late-night introspection and arms-in-the-air release. There’s a quiet tension running through its verses before it opens up into a chorus that lands with real weight.
Originally written some time ago, the song has been reworked for the album, with Nicolas refining it into what he calls the definitive version. That attention to detail shows — ‘Moving On’ feels tightly wound but emotionally open, balancing polish with vulnerability.
It follows recent singles ‘Train On Fire’ and ‘All Your Wonder’, offering another glimpse into a debut record shaped by themes of growth, reflection and letting go. Produced by Dani Castelar and Gavin Fitzjohn, the album looks set to push Nicolas’ sound further while staying rooted in his signature honesty.
With backing from BBC Introducing, RTÉ 2FM and tastemakers at Hot Press, Nicolas is steadily building momentum — and if ‘Moving On’ is anything to go by, he’s stepping into his biggest chapter yet.
