North London’s Hot Stamp have officially arrived—and they’re not holding back. The band, fronted by magnetic sister duo Jasmine and Poppy, have shared the gripping video for debut single “Josephine”, a twisted tale of obsessive friendship wrapped in glistening disco-pop sheen.
The track, which quickly caught the ears of So Young, Dork, The Line Of Best Fit, Under The Radar and more, treads the razor’s edge between the dreamy and the deranged. Beneath its glittering hooks lies a narrative of betrayal, emotional chaos—and yes, metaphorical murder.
Hot Stamp explain: “We really enjoyed magnifying the intensity of emotions with this track to create something that feels like your favourite memory stabbing you in the back.” Written and recorded in a single day, “Josephine” is a potent first strike, forged from personal experience and explosive imagination.
The video brings the track’s unsettling glamour to life, channelling the band’s signature aesthetic—a fever dream of surreal cinema, dangerous femininity, and high fashion. Think The Neon Demon meets Goldfrapp with a knife behind the back.
After 18 months electrifying London venues and recent support slots with Courting and Double Virgo, Hot Stamp are gearing up for a breakout year—with festival appearances including Wilderness (Aug 1), Tenement Trail (Oct 11), and Live at Leeds (Nov 15).
With roots in DIY experimentation, an obsession with Bowie, Gaga, and Björk, and a vision that fuses raw energy with high-art ambition, Hot Stamp are the real deal. “Josephine” is just the beginning of what promises to be a thrilling, unorthodox rise.
