Dahi Steps Out From Behind the Boards With Star-Studded Debut Album Black Boy (Alternative)

Grammy-winning producer Dahi has officially stepped into the spotlight.

The influential hitmaker has released his long-awaited debut album, Black Boy (Alternative), a genre-blurring 11-track project featuring an impressive cast including Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Vince Staples, Ravyn Lenae, Baby Rose, Channel Tres, Moses Sumney, Fousheé and more.

Described by Dahi as “Black Radiohead,” the album moves between alternative rock, hip-hop, R&B and experimental sounds, with the producer bringing together the worlds that have shaped his musical identity.

Leading the release is “How To Pray”, a striking new collaboration with Kendrick Lamar and Amber Mark, accompanied by a video directed by Mez that explores the importance of human connection through an inventive dual-screen format.

Dahi has spent years shaping the sound of some of modern music’s biggest names, with production credits spanning Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees”, Drake’s “Worst Behavior”, SZA, Travis Scott, Steve Lacy, Kali Uchis and many more.

But Black Boy (Alternative) marks a new chapter — one that puts his own artistic vision firmly at the forefront.

Dahi is no longer just the name in the credits. With Black Boy (Alternative), the producer-turned-artist is making his own statement.
