Camille Munn Shares Soulful New Single ‘Get Down’

London-based artist Camille Munn returns with ‘Get Down’, a warm, dancefloor-ready new single that blends soulful vocals, electronic production and a playful ’80s edge.

Out now via Brighter Days Family, the track sees Munn push beyond the neo-soul foundations that have shaped her sound, embracing a more electronic and club-focused direction without losing the intimacy at the heart of her music.

Produced by Reek0 and Felix.cw, ‘Get Down’ was built around the simple idea of soulful dance music — movement, freedom and connection. Inspired by the production from the outset, Munn says the writing came together instinctively, with the energy of the beat guiding the song.

“It has this playful ’80s flair to it,” Munn explains. “It’s dance music reimagined, pulling from nostalgic influences while pushing forward with a modern twist in the production.”

That balance between nostalgia and forward-thinking production sits at the centre of Munn’s evolving sound. Influenced by the likes of D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, De La Soul and Chaka Khan, her music draws on the intimacy and musicality of neo-soul while increasingly moving towards electronic and dance territory.

Collaboration has also been key to Munn’s development. Her work with the Brighter Day Family has given her space to experiment alongside a wider community of musicians, while the collective’s Brighters Bootcamp saw her work with artists and songwriters including IZCO, exploring new ideas through collaboration.

Her live presence has been growing alongside the music. Munn has opened for Yussef Dayes on his Experience Tour in Bristol and Brighton, while performances with the Brighter Day Family have helped establish a live world built around musicianship, spontaneity and collective energy.

Following support from Rinse FM, Notion and The Blues Project, and appearances at We Out Here, Worldwide Festival and V&A Music is Black, ‘Get Down’ arrives as another step forward for an artist carving out her own space between soul, electronic music and the dancefloor.
