“Aries”: Gorilliaz team up with Peter Hook and Georgia to create innovative new track

Gorillaz have dropped the third installment to their 2020 video series Song Machine: Season 1, with their new track Aries. Collaborating with New Order legend Peter Hook and synthpop producer Georgia, Aries details the “highly impatient and competitive” star sign, in which “many have the fighting spirit of [a] mythological ruler” (as described by Gorillaz guitarist Noodle).

Aries was released on April 9th, following from the first two episodes Désolé (featuring Fatoumata Diawara) and Momentary Bliss, with Slaves and slowthai. Aries, appropriately released in April, combines stylistic and dreamy Gorillaz vocals from Damon Albarn with an iconic New Order bass hook. The further addition of synthy percussion from Georgia provides the Gorillaz with an innovative yet memorable track for the collection.
