The Azorean festival of creative exploration, Tremor Festival, is back on São Miguel Island from March 19th to 23rd, 2024, with a vibrant array of musical experiences. The first wave of artists announced promises an eclectic lineup that will captivate music enthusiasts.

Leading the charge is Cole Pulice, a versatile composer, saxophonist, and electro-acoustic musician, hailing from Oakland via Minneapolis. Fresh from the success of their debut album "Gloam" and notable collaborations, Cole Pulice returns with their latest solo endeavor, "Scry." This contemporary masterpiece blends saxophone and wind synthesizers with live signal processing and electronics.

French artist Cécile Schott, known as Colleen, brings her fearless approach to new sounds and music creation to Tremor 2024. With seven critically acclaimed albums released between 2003 and 2021, Colleen is a constant innovator. Her latest release, "Le jour et la nuit du réel," on Thrill Jockey, marks her return to purely instrumental work. Collaborations with synth manufacturer Moog have amplified her passion for synthesis, resulting in an album that artfully conveys the complexity of our relationship with reality through sonic transformations reflecting psychological mutations experienced through day and night cycles.

The living legend of music, Jards Macalé, celebrated the 50th anniversary of his eponymous solo album in 2022. His performance at Tremor 2024, with his new band, promises a dazzling showcase of his artistic prowess, blending Brazilian music, samba, bossa nova, rock, classical harmonies, and jazz improvisation, bridging the past and present.

From Barcelona, Prison Affair brings raw and unfiltered music characterized by synthesized guitar riffs, commanding bass lines, and otherworldly vocals. Performing at Tremor as a power trio, with Adri (Brux, Psycho Tendencies) on drums.

Hailing from Barcelos, Portugal, Glockenwise has always stood out with their non-conformist energy and distinctive melancholic undertones. Their latest album, "Gótico Português," delves into themes of identity and offers songs for uncertain times.

Romperayo invites you on a high-speed musical journey through Colombian tropical folklore, reinterpreting the psychedelic sounds of '70s cumbia and other tropical rhythms in a modern and daring way. Their live shows are a whirlwind of musical fireworks, appealing to hips, feet, brains, and spirits.

Completing the first lineup announcement for Tremor 2024 is Estrela, a new band formed by emerging Portuguese artists Bejaflor, Mc Falcona, and Sreya, created during an artistic residency in the Azores organized by Rádio Vaivém.

Tremor Festival 2024 promises to be a melting pot of musical diversity and innovation, offering a unique experience on São Miguel Island. Don't miss out on this extraordinary musical journey.
