The Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall concert series is back for 2026—and it’s bigger, louder, and more ambitious than ever.
Running from 23–29 March at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall, this year’s run marks a major milestone: the 150th show in the charity’s history. At the helm is Robert Smith of The Cure, stepping in as “Cureator” to deliver what he promises will be an “unforgettable, unmissable week.”
Smith has assembled a powerhouse bill spanning indie, alternative, and experimental heavyweights. Headliners include Elbow, Mogwai, Manic Street Preachers, My Bloody Valentine, Garbage and Wolf Alice—alongside a special night of comedy curated by Smith himself. Thursday’s Manic Street Preachers set will officially mark the landmark 150th performance.
Adding fresh energy to the format, select shows will also reach global audiences: performances by Elbow and Manic Street Preachers are set to be live-streamed via Player+, with all proceeds going directly to the charity.
A roster of top broadcasters will guide audiences through the week, including Shaun Keaveny, Mary-Anne Hobbs, John Kennedy, Jack Saunders and more. Meanwhile, Scottish post-rock icons Mogwai arrive with momentum, celebrating 30 years since their debut release on Rock Action Records and riding acclaim for their latest album The Bad Fire. Frontman Stuart Braithwaite called the invitation to play “an honour,” citing The Cure as a formative influence.
In a left-field but inspired move, Smith has invited celebrated accordionist Nihad Hrustanbegovic to perform throughout the venue each night. Known for blending classical, jazz and contemporary works, Hrustanbegovic brings a roaming, immersive musical layer to the event—personally requested by Smith himself.
While the line-up is stacked, the mission remains clear. Teenage Cancer Trust continues to fund specialist care for young people facing cancer—still the leading disease-related cause of death for young people in the UK. The Royal Albert Hall shows remain the charity’s flagship fundraiser, originally launched by Roger Daltrey, whose 25-year tenure helped build the series into one of the most respected in live music.
Now, with Smith taking the reins as the first in a new wave of guest curators, 2026 signals a bold new chapter.
As Smith puts it: “Every band, every guest—legendary or at the top of their game. It’s going to be a fabulous seven nights.”
And with live streams, surprise performances, and a landmark show on the horizon, this year’s run looks set to be exactly that.
