Taylr unveils psychedelic new single and video ‘lie to you’

Kent-born, London-based riser Taylr returns today (27th February) with his latest single and video, ‘lie to you’ — a psychedelic, drum-driven cut that pushes his evolving sound into bold new territory.

Built around virtuosic percussion and his unmistakable vocal tone, ‘lie to you’ sees Taylr blur the lines between rap, alternative soul and experimental pop. It’s immersive and cinematic, continuing to expand a discography rooted as much in atmosphere as in technical precision.

The accompanying visual, shot by Dante Richardson (Destroy Lonely, Converse), unravels a love story gone wrong through a surreal, narrative-led lens. In keeping with Taylr’s creative ethos, the video leans into abstraction and mood — amplifying the emotional tension at the heart of the track while reinforcing his commitment to building a fully realised artistic world.

The release follows recent single ‘twenty four’, featuring Grammy-nominated Duckwrth, which surpassed half a million streams and marked a significant expansion of his global audience. It also arrives off the back of a sold-out headline show celebrating the launch of his NEIGHBOURS series, where he shared the stage with the likes of Kojey Radical and Che Lingo — further cementing his place among the UK’s most forward-thinking new voices.

Raised in Maidstone on a diet of skate culture, Wu-Tang records and 60s classics, Taylr began making beats and freestyling long before fully understanding the industry he would later step into. A move to London sharpened his focus, fuelling what he describes as a competitive “battery in my back” — an energy that continues to drive his evolution.

Co-signs from Duckwrth, EARTHGANG, Blk Odyssy, Xzibit and Che Lingo have positioned him firmly on tastemaker radar, while public praise from Kojey Radical — who has tipped him for future O2-level stages — underscores the sense of calculated momentum building around him.

At 26, Taylr’s ambitions stretch globally, from BRITs to Grammys, but his approach remains measured. With ‘lie to you’ marking the latest chapter in his ascent, 2026 looks set to be the year he converts steady growth into a defining breakthrough.
