Fresh off the announcement of their debut album dropping on Jazzland Recordings in 2025, Orbits are already making waves as one of Norway’s most exciting new acts. A supergroup of sorts, the trio brings together heavyweights from Jaga Jazzist, Neon Ion, Big Bang, and even Willow Smith’s orbit—each with deep roots in jazz, psych rock, R&B, and soul.
Their sound is genre-bending, and unmistakably theirs. But Orbits aren’t just carving their own lane—they’re also tapped into Oslo’s vibrant music scene. We caught up with the trio to hear about the local acts they think everyone should be watching right now.
CHARLOTTE DOS SANTOS
Our good friend Charlotte is a rare gem on the Oslo music scene. Blending smooth, soulful jazz-pop that hits the soul hard. With a voice that’s angelic, emotive and mesmerizing—calling to mind the legendary Erykah Badu—Charlotte stands out not just as a vocalist, but as a true all-rounder: writing, producing, and weaving her Brazilian roots seamlessly into every song.
We’re thrilled to whisper the rumor that new music may be on the horizon. She radiates a kind of star power that’s as rare as it is undeniable.
WEEJUNS
If you're craving something dark, enigmatic, and utterly captivating, you need to experience the sonic force of Weejuns live. This powerhouse trio—Hedvig Mollestad on guitar, Ståle Storløkken on organ and keys, and Ole Mofjell (yes, he's married to our lead singer!) on drums—delivers a sound that’s both ferociously intense and irresistibly groovy.
We've seen them live more times than we can count, and every show hits like a storm: thrilling, immersive, and bursting with riffs that demand you sing, move, and lose yourself in the moment.
SOFI 0
Our friend Sofie has been riding under many banners the last few years, as lead singer of the band Fieh, as part of the band Sojum Klub og as MIDISOFI. Now she’s making music as SOFI O, and it’s a wonderful mix of RNB, soul, clubby beats and sprinkles of jazz in there. Only one song released so far, but knowing what she’s capable of the upcoming album is going to be amazing.
ÆVESTADEN
Ævestaden is a modern but traditional norwegian folk music trio consisting of 3 very gifted musicians and singers. They’ve put out 2 albums as well as a lot of cool collaborative projects, and our own member Erlend is now producing and mixing their upcoming record. This is a truly interesting band bound for great success, also outside of Norway.
DE GUERRE
This duo combines punchy house music with rap, and they’ve established themselves in record time in Norway, playing festivals and getting nominated for a Norwegian Grammy. Super funky, danceable and creative, they’ve done 1 EP so far but have lots more music in the works. For fans of French House, Channel Tres and more.
